Doubles Partners: ~3.0 skill
Howdy Austin picklers! I don’t know if anyone says that but I’m goin with it. My friend and I are looking for pickle ball pals to pick up doubles games with.
If anyone is looking for doubles opponents around a 3.0 skill level, respond or DM so we can coordinate a game soon.
We’re sports pals and good friends who work in home development and construction in Austin. Both dudes in our mid 30s who enjoy laid back fun like pickle ball and bowling. Lately we’ve been playing on the garage rooftop courts over at Austin Pickle Ranch off 6th. That place seems to always have open courts when we typically go on weekends or evening week days. But we’re also open to trying new courts. I stay by the airport and my bud lives up north by Wells Branch, so anywhere in between works.
Our skill level is comprable at around a 3.0 skill rating. I played tennis back in the day and have that experience and my bud he’s just good at stuff all the time.
Let’s get a game goin! Pickle it up!

Bar rec to watch a game in downtown / east austin?
Hi - I'm a 32 yo male and will be down in Austin solo for about a month. I'll be staying a bit east of I35 downtown, and am hoping to find a bar that I could regularly get a drink or two most days after work.
Ideally the bar would be a place I could watch a game (doesn't need to be a full sports bar) and listen to live music / house band. It'd also be great if it were a friendlier bar and it wouldn't be strange for me to chat with the other patrons.

How do we start doing songs/chants in the AAC like they do in Europe?
I’m sure there’s a lot of practical reasons why it isn’t incorporated, but I don’t know if I can go another season hearing “I love it” blaring right after the final buzzer. Or just the rinse & repeat soundtrack NBA stadiums play like it’s a retail store mandatory playlist.
I sat in the Austin FC fan section recently and it was one of the best sporting events I’ve been to.
**some great ideas, need catchy chant ideas to start at a local Dallas bar during the away games and get the lads hyped!
