am i cooked?
I’m an average student.. with a 3.3 gpa. i just started making my academic comeback and i’m a junior. my parents want me to apply to competitive schools and possibly an ivy league.. I’ve participated in many extracurriculars including but not limited to: statewide competitions in Math Team, Martial Arts, JROTC (80+ community service hours and multiple leadership positions), some other clubs I’m merely a part of. I’ve also babysat multiple times and plan on getting a part time job.. can I be saved with my SAT scores, extracurriculars, and a strong personal essay or am i too cooked and should just fall back on a safety? does anyone have any recommendations for extracurriculars too

what would be the best back excercise for me?
i am working out for about a year and when winter hit i started working out from home instead of my oustide gym, where i did pull ups and chin ups pretty well. when i started working out from home i was getting pretty demotivated for back because i couldn’t do much or atleast i thought, so i stopped working out for 2 months and did martial arts instead. now it’s about a month that i’m working out seriously again and i am in need of good back excercises with some dip bars (no aussie pull ups are too easy for me and i can’t even feel my back) and some 4kg weights that i ususally put in a backpack and do one arm curls with.
since it’s not working really well i need some lats and upper back excercises that i can do with the things i have and maybe relative to my strenght (about 10 pull ups) if someone could help thank you

Here's the season: Survivor IA: Micronesia (S16)Toughts of the season: Omg, I love this season regardless of the fact that the favorites were slaughtered - at least most of them - I like the duos and I like that everyone has their moment to shine, even those who were eliminated early.
Some contracts were torn up and others ended up being renewed for a few more seasons if they ever think about coming back. Overall, I liked all the entrants and I think we might see some of them playing again, why not? If the favorites had 2 chances to shine, the fans deserve them too.
My favorites:>! Charlie, Danny, DJ, Jay, Josephine, Cat, Herbert, Olenka and Zodiac Lad!<

I guess I don’t have ADHD.
So I went to a psychiatrist to reaffirm my suspicions on whether or not I have adhd. The psychiatrist screened me with ADHD, depression and autism tests. I scored either very low or moderate on all of these tests.
While I do think this is a positive thing for me, I still have problems trying to fix my laziness/procrastination and also other bad habits such as trying to study (though admittedly the major I’m studying isn’t something I’m passionate about.)
It’s frustrating to me because I did managed to get myself focused on studying when I was passionate about martial arts and no joke it helped me ALOT when focusing in school. But I was forced to quit due to injury risks. Now life feels kinda just boring.
Apologies if this sounds like a semi rant. Just need some advice or opinions. Thanks.

Can anyone explain the significance of these arm band things so many characters wear on their biceps? I know that fighters in Muay Thai traditionally wear arm ties, but I don't know whether these bands are based off of those or if they're something...
My parents doesnt gaf about my grades, but they wanted me to serve the country?
Is this a typical normal behaviour?, my father is so obsessed to what im done, i usually do great at academy (not really since i fucked up at math), i have potential at public speaking, debate, leadership, writing, drama club and anything but they doesnt really took the shit of it but still proud of what i achive.
Both of my parents really want me to become a leader, politicians or being independent and sucessfull, they even advocate me to stop going into college and start recruiting a jobs.
My father receive a suggestion to send me for sport activity (i hate sports), i end up in martial arts and i perceive self-unconscious, losing my creativity and anything else, but at least i learn new things like self defence, i even got twice medals for joined a competition which also good.
I dont understand of their technical problem and mentality, however they help me to create self-awareness and become more extrovert. But at least pls understand of what im going.

Can Starlight's character still be redeemed? Season 3 gave a massive blow to her popularity for the way she was portrayed. She was my favorite character, and it hurt to see the writers making a perpetual loser
I am only making this post because youtube algorithm started to show me alot of shorts with the show, especially Homie and SB, and most comments were about how useless she is, and how soldier boy was about to give her a 1950 treatment, and I realized she is massively hated outside of reddit, or at least the toxicity is far bigger there than on reddit, at least here people understand the show is criticizing the toxic culture that youtubers are fans of about Soldier Boy or Homelander, and still debate things.
I have no idea if the "starlight lighting up her eyes for the zillion time" were always a thing, but i think before season 3 she was pretty popular despite not being powerful at all. But now, as much as I hate seeing people shitting on her, can't say they dont have a point. I am seriously pissed at the fact that the writers in general just dont let her put up a serious fight and have her own cool blows at another super even if she is still gonna lose the fight, they completely forgot that she knows martial arts, in season 2 for whatever fucking reason the writers chose to make her dependent on electric devices, which makes her completely useless without them, and the frustrating build up against Soldier Boy. Why are even the writers making her such a weakling? I never expected her to powerful, but she could have been made capable.
Season 3 felt they the writers tried some twisted feminist story for her where she is the morally pure one, and the men are toxic for searching desperate solutions against a rapist that can nuke an entire country, only to end up with a sexist writing as in "men searches for logical solutions and the women whines" thinking that writing the main female character as having the moral high ground for simply being a woman is what women wanna see. I can see the creators making her opposing killing Homelander in the future as part of character development, thinking thats gonna be a good character development, and dropping the "if we kill him, we are gonna be as bad as him".
Starlight was clearly written to be the self insert character for the female audience of the show, as Hughie is your average joe that the male audience is, but i found it very hard to identify with her, and I dont know what could be done for her. Personally id write her acknowledging some of her hypocrisy of season 3, or that least Hughie may have had a point, and actually develop her powers like, flying and not making her absorb the photons from the sun or something.

Several doubts regarding monk's unarmed strike
I'm building a case for my DM and I need some clarification on unarmed strikes before I bring it to him. I'm insistent I'm not dual wielding, but we are unclear on wether I could add DEX to unarmed strikes.
I understand that when I make an attack with my quarterstaff I'd make an attack roll +Prof+DEX, and damage should be 1d6+DEX (one handed) right?
Then, I can use my bonus action to make an unarmed strike that should be another roll +Prof+DEX and 1d4+DEX for damage, correct?
Should I spend ki to make 2 attacks with FoB on my bonus action, it'd be just 2 rolls just like the last one, no? Also adding the DEX mod to the damage roll on both
Now lastly, and this one is a stretch. I am multiclassing a druid, is there any way to make use of my martial arts while in beast form? I understand it's not the case, since for example bear claws and bite (while unarmed) are considered weapon attacks, and I don't think claws are one of the "simple weapons" monks are proficient with. But I'd like to know what the community thinks.
Edit: even if it's an unserious campaign, no, I'm not trying to be king Fu panda, I was just curious and I can see there is variety of opinions.
We're friends and discuss the rules openly because we're "kinda new", played several PC/Campings each, just we never had had a monk on the party.

What martial arts should a gorilla study?
Gorillas are infamously strong but they still find themselves falling victim to the likes of leopards, humans, and even crocodiles on occasion. What martial arts would be best suited for gorilla self-defence?
Things to bear in mind:
-Despite having an estimated 20x the lifting strength and 1.5x the grip strength of a human being on average, gorillas have very short legs and are highly dependent on their arms for movement; their two-legged mobility is highly limited.
-Gorillas can’t form closed fists, instead striking with an open hand.
-Their opponents consist of ambush predators highly dependent on powerful bites and digging claws (leopards and crocodiles) utilised in a grappling-esque manner, fragile and stealthy apes reliant on keeping range and using weapons (humans), and aggressive weighty apes who tend to charge in with all their body weight (other gorillas), with all of them potentially engaging on their own or in groups of varying sizes, so they have a variety of fighting styles that they need to learn how to deal with.
Any ideas?

A squad question
Is an 8 man party of 4 melee and 4 ranged suitable for late game content. (I dont want a huge party to much work.) The plan is:
A falling sun man A martial arts man A nodachi man And a cleaver man
The rest would just be whatever bow is the best in the game. Does this party seem suitable? Or will i like walk into skeletons and get wiped.

How do i make magic and swordsmanship fit together and combine them both as a martial arts system?
This is for a fantasy novel that I want to have mostly realistic swordsmanship, but I still want to include magic, since 'fantasy and magic' but I want to make it a systematic martial arts system out of it because people had to find ways to combine magic and swordsmanship together to improve overall efficiency using easy, quick to cast, simple, but fast and hard striking as how Bruce Lee intended(for JKD being the essence and concept of overall effectiveness In martial arts).
So any suggestions where I can use swordsmanship and magic to make a martial arts system to combine it together in a realistic, natural way? Feel free to share insights about why they use swords and stuff.
