An expansive list of interesting plots that the series could still do (and the overwhelming amount of untapped potential it still has)

London Sport News - Sat, 04/20/2024 - 08:28

Unnamed episode idea: A group of Loud siblings and side characters end up trapped in an abandoned house together and have to fight their way out of a series of traps and pranks. Kind of like SAW but more light-hearted and kid-friendly. However, Luan is also captured, seemingly meaning the master prankster is somebody else. SPOILER: Possibly a story I'll be writing soon.

An unnamed sequel to "One of the Boys": Yeah, I know the episode sucked. But let's be fair. The premise of that episode still has so much untapped potential. With better writing and a better execution, a story focusing more in-depth on Linka and the Loud brothers could be very interesting and fun to see.

More episodes where members of the friend group/s interact with the Loud siblings: I will agree that there perhaps are just a few too many episodes focusing on the friend groups (especially Lincoln's), even if some of them are good characters and some of the episodes themselves can actually be quite strong sometimes. But if the show is going to include them a lot more, maybe it would be more efficient to mix and match some of the friends with some of the Loud sisters. For example, mixing up Lynn and Liam has been very successful so far. I also did a story that mixed up Lucy with Stella ("Leaf Our Town Alone"), so maybe this could be an efficient way to keep including the friends while not ignoring the fact that this show is still supposed to be about the Louds.

An episode where all the main characters are either David Steele characters or Ace Savvy characters: Basically, Lincoln and his sisters (and/or friends) are all superheroes or spies for an episode and they embark on an adventure together. It certainly could be a lot of fun.

An episode where Luna shows off a new talent, hobby, or interest: Luna is a good character, but why does it feel like she still has such limited range after 7 SEASONS? Aside from briefly being shown to be good at laser tag in "Racing Hearts", the only thing she's really into is music (singing and dancing also kinda fit into that same niche). Let's flesh her out some more, because it's embarrassing that she doesn't have more character range by this point. It's not believable that a character wouldn't have a wider amount of things that she's into. The rest of the sisters have other things that they like or do outside of their core shtick. Why not Luna?

An episode where Luna and Sam bond over common interests: Building on the previous idea, remember when Luna and Sam said they'd start seeking out mutual interests so that they could do stuff they liked together (aside from music, obviously) at the end of "Racing Hearts"? Well, we're over 4 seasons later, and that STILL hasn't happened. Come on, show. Get on with that.

An episode where Lana meets Becca Chang at the zoo: Maybe they come into conflict because Lana believes animals shouldn't be locked up in cages, but comes to realise that Becca and her colleagues take good care of the animals and they don't mind it, plus sometimes animals running wild can cause chaos. I don't know, but I think there's potential there between Lana and Becca.

An episode (or multiple episodes, actually) where Lynn uses her strength and aggression to do something noble: One of the things that contribute to this unfortunate never-ending level of hate that Lynn gets is the fact that her toughness and strength are only ever used for a quick gag or to make her an antagonist like in "Snow Escape". Whenever it could be used to help somebody out, she's either written out of the plot entirely ("No Bus No Fuss" writes her out when she could have been involved somehow in helping Lincoln and friends overcome the bullies), or she's nerfed to the point of being useless ("Lynn and Order" has her unable to overpower a little cat less than half her size for some reason, despite the immense strength she has shown in other episode). Let Lynn save Lincoln from bullies, or do something really badass in some episodes that shows that her brawn can be used for good, noble acts that benefit her siblings, and that she's not just a nuisance to them. My superior re-write of "Lynn and Order" would be a great example of this. For me, this is one of the absolute most important things for the show to do that it STILL hasn't done yet. Honestly, it's ridiculous that this hasn't happened after 7 seasons. It's far more important that the show does this than it does an episode about Dante burying a secret or Gus being a great singer, for Christ's sake. We need to get rid of the Lynn hate, once and for all.

A Sequel to "Lynn and Order": Building on the last point, maybe there could be an episode where an out-of-control bullying problem occurs, and the students need tough and badass hall monitor Lynn Jr to come and save the day by taking down all the bullies. Sort of similar to the "Lynn and Order" rewrite I did, but different since this would be a sequel to that episode rather than a rewritten version of it.

A Sequel to "Sitting Bull": Like the episode or not, the premise of the rough and abrasive Lynn being a babysitter is one that is filled with comedic potential. The former episode capitalised on some of it, but more comedy (and maybe even some solid character development this time) could be derived from it.

An episode focusing on Luan and influencer boxing: YouTuber boxing is quite a big thing these days, and a lot of recent episodes seem to be drawing attention to the fact that Luan is probably a lot stronger than she looks (look at those legs in "Dread of the Class", man XD). Luan is a bit of an online star, if her whole "Luan Out Loud" thing is any indication, so maybe Luan gets into some beef with a rival online persona, and things kick off. It could potentially be funny.

An episode pairing up Lynn with Luan: I don't know what it would be about, but since they're two of my favourite siblings, it's a shame we haven't really had an episode focusing on these two together (the closest we've had is that short where Leni is a detective and they are the two antagonists who frame Lincoln).

An episode where the Loud cousins get a better chance to interact with the main Louds: While I liked "Twas the Fight Before Christmas", it did suffer a similar problem to "The Loudest Thanksgiving" from season 3. There was so much focus on Lynn Sr and Lance's tiresome rivalry that the new characters got a limited amount of time to shine. Also, there is so much more they could do when it comes to their potential interactions with the main Loud family. For example, an interaction between Lynn Jr and Lance, Sharon, and/or Shiloh could be cool considering Lance's side of the family shares a passion for athleticism and fitness with LJ. Her beating Lance at one of his own strength records would be particularly hilarious.

More episodes where Lincoln and Lynn bond: Because why not? Don't know what the episodes would be about. But episodes where they get along and/or work together (i.e. "Can't Lynn Em All", "Diss the Cook", "Sofa so Good", "Middle Men", etc..) are also great, so yeah.

Episodes where certain characters come back like Rocky, Cricket, Meli, Darcy, etc: There are so many underused characters that could be given a bit more spotlight somehow.

Voided: Speaking of Rocky, maybe the show does something similar to "The Amazing World of Gumball" where it turns out there is a void or alternate pocket of reality where unwanted or forgotten characters are sent to, because why not? XD Maybe Lincoln, Rusty, and Lucy go into the void to rescue Rocky from being forgotten/non-existent. That would explain why he's mysteriously never in the show anymore despite the fact that his brother and father appear all the time.

Cutting Loose: Also, speaking of Cricket, what about an episode that shows how she likes to "cut loose" in her downtime when not being a prim and proper pageant legend? Maybe she's actually a super rough underground roller derby player or something that Lola doesn't know about. Such a reveal could be hilarious. XD

Misfits: Lynn decides to invent a new sport. She gathers a group of people who she knows excel at a particular sport (i.e. Lori with golf, Lucy with volleyball or basketball, Clyde with dodgeball when he's mad, Liam with baseball, etc..) and puts them into a group and has them compete against another team. Not sure exactly how this would play out (yet), but it's a concept that has some potential if done in a good way.

Snow Wars: Lynn and her excessive brawn goes up against Lisa and her tech/robotics in a snow battle of epic proportions, much to the dismay of the rest of the family. Basically "Snow Escape" meets "Snow Bored".

Nice Guys Finish First: When people have finally had enough of Scoots being an abrasive jerk, she realises she needs to change her attitude and turns to Royal Woods's resident sweetheart, Leni Loud. Leni tries to teach Scoots to be nicer to people, with naturally amusing results. She also likely employs the help of her friends and/or family for the job.

She's a Natural: An episode idea where Lucy Loud really dedicates herself to a particular sport. Aside from being Lynn's roommate and probably having picked up a few things from her over the years, Lucy has demonstrated that even without proper effort, she has some natural athletic sports talent. In one episode, she quickly became a great basketball player. Then there's "Sand Hassles" where she's shown to be naturally good at volleyball, despite seemingly never playing it. This suggests that she has natural gifts at sports. Maybe we could get an episode exploring this. Feel free to provide suggestions as to what sport she should take up for this plot.

Future Frenzy: An episode showing the Loud family 20 or so years into the future, when all the kids are grown up and most of them have partners and/or children of their own. It could be very fun and interesting to see. However, a concept like this could be saved for the grand finale of the series.

Game Gear: Lincoln and Lana enter a video game tournament together. Could be a great sequel to "Game Off" and a really fun story where they bond. That's it, really.

Code Monkeys: An idea FictionalMediaBully had about Lincoln and Lana becoming young game developers/programmers. Another potential "Game Off" sequel story. Speak to him about further details.

Lynnception: A sequel to "Dream a Lily Dream". Lynn Sr has recurring nightmares due to an old traumatic memory and becomes a nervous wreck, so his children use Lisa's machine and enter his dreams and fight off whatever terrors await there.

22 Short Stories About Royal Woods: Similar to the famous episode of a similar name from "The Simpsons". A 22-minute episode focusing on the lives and escapades of various supporting and underexposed minor characters from the show. Sadly, you can tell the show's crew would like to use Flip, Scoots, Bolhofner, etc... I was thinking of less overused characters for such an idea, but hey, what can you do? XD Maybe this is another idea I could write at some time.

Lola in London: Based on another idea FictionalMediaBully previously shared with me about Lola and the Louds going to London and doing some stuff. Maybe it could be a fun episode. I don't know. Ask him for the details more about that one.

A Way With Words: Given their mutual interest in writing, Rita convinces Jesse to hire Lucy as a junior writer. Something good could potentially come from this premise.

Love Blossoms: An episode focusing on the details of Lynn Sr and Rita's relationship. We know some details about how they first met and fell in love, but there could be a very touching episode that expands on it at some point. Maybe the parents tell their kids about the story and they frequently interrupt with funny quips and one-liners to add to the humour of the story.

After Hours: Perhaps the show could do an episode about one, some, or all of the Loud siblings staying up too late at night, and the hilarious consequences that could ensue from such a simple scenario. Sometimes some of the show's best episodes are the simple ones, after all. Just look at "Space Invader".

Trapped: The Loud family are in an escape room. This is a less hectic version of the idea I have above, but while that's a big prank threat, this is just a more relaxed and casual escape room endeavour featuring the titular family.

Flipped: Having finally had enough of his scamming, cheating ways, the Loud family reports Flip and his business goes under. However, they feel sorry for him as he quickly becomes a penniless, homeless wreck. They help him regain his business, but only if he promises to be a more clean-cut, honest, and fair businessman.

At Long Last Leave: Based on the Simpsons episode of the same name, Royal Woods becomes fed up with the antics and chaos of the Loud family, and force them out. They go and live somewhere else, but hate it. Eventually, they return to Royal Woods and try to prove to the townsfolk that they're an okay family to live around. Plenty of comedy and good character moments could possibly be derived from this narrative scenario.

Black Magic: Lincoln is doing his first big performance as a magician. However, when he discovers the extent to which his sister Lucy and her fellow Morticians are capable of performing REAL magical spells, he employs their help to make his stage performances more spectacular.

A Real Boy: As the name implies, Lisa Loud does a Pinnochio on her robot, Todd, and turns him into a real human being. Who knows what could come out of such a scenario?

Michigan's Got Talent: The citizens of Royal Woods all compete against each other in a general talent show to see who can impress the judges the most. Plenty of hi-jinks, hilarity, and conflict all ensue as a result.

Chitty Chitty Chang Bang: Okay, apologies. That title is probably a bit cringe. XD To be fair, I actually didn't come up with it. But in the event that "The Casagrandes" doesn't get renewed, maybe TLH doing a full episode focusing on arguably the most popular characters to come out of the spin-off in the Chang family would be a nice thing to see.

Karate Kicks: A spiritual successor of sorts to the spinoff's "Karate Chops". I don't know how you'd set it up, but let's be fair... who wouldn't want to see a scenario where Lola Loud and Adelaide Chang square off in a Karate match? Actually, who wouldn't want to see them just interact in general? Speaking of which...

Tea Parties, Toads, and Trouble: An event of some kind brings Carl and Adelaide to Royal Woods (or Lana and Lola to Great Lakes City), and the four of them have some interactions and potentially get into some kind of conflict. Whatever the setup is, let's face it. We just want to see these 4 mix. XD

Bella Big Bucks Strikes Back: A sequel to "Can't Lynn Em' All" where Bella gets her daughter Becky (because I don't care what any dosser says, Becky and Bella are related, just LOOK at them) to challenge Lynn to an intense wrestling match as revenge for when Lynn left Bella high and dry. Becky beats her up at first but Lynn manages to overpower and defeat her in the end. Lynn then makes up with Bella and Becky and the two girls agree to be sparring buddies.

Measuring Up: Another Casagrandes idea. Punguari visits Ronnie Anne and her family in Royal Woods, where Ronnie introduces her to Sid and her other friends. However, Sid feels a bit insecure that Punguari might replace her as Ronnie's bestie, and given that Punguari is a deity, Sid feels she just can't compete. Of course, she learns that it doesn't matter and that she's still her bestie and everything, but still, it could make for an interesting tale. After all, episodes focusing on the friendship between Ronnie and Sid sometimes resulted in the best output from "The Casagrandes" ("The Two of Clubs" is still probably my favourite from that show).

But really, most of all... THE ENTIRE B-CANON TIMELINE. Because come on!

Tell me you wouldn't want to see all THESE stories be made into official episodes: https://www.fanfiction.net/u/13150246/Tales-of-Interest I mean, they were specifically created to be like real episodes of the show, while also actually focusing on the characters and narratives that people are interested in seeing. The B-Canon stories are the show itself, but finally perfected.

Also, I will continue to add ideas to this post in the comments section in the coming days and weeks as I continue to come up with more of them. lol

But yeah, when some people say the show is running out of ideas and there is only so much more that it could do that would actually be interesting... yeah, clearly that's not true. Also, if you want to chip in with any ideas of your own, go for it.

Help picking school for Computer Science

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 23:24

Hi, I'm currently trying to pick a school from the three places I am accepted from: UBCV, UBCO, and UWO.

I've axed down UBCV due to its competitive nature, which I know I will struggle with. But I'm still split between UWO and UBCO.

I've made a quick pros and cons list for each school. Please let me know if I should know anything more, if I am missing any key details, or maybe if some of my claims are invalid.

UBCO Pros UBCO Cons - Easy to declare major - Not many tech opportunities in Kelowna itself - Smaller classes (I value this a lot) - From what I've seen, unhelpful coop department - Better sporting environment (I love winter sports) - Culture seems less hustle and bustle

UWO Pros UWO Cons - More job opportunities (London is a larger city and is close to Toronto) - As per the students, the courses lack depth - More variety in classes - London has nothing much to do - More networking chances - They have a game dev minor which I'm particularly interested in

Metro Hull Reversal Forex Trading Strategy

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 22:51

Many new merchants have skilled newbies’ luck. They would attempt to dip their ft buying and selling the foreign exchange markets and fortunately on their first day buying and selling the demo accounts they’d expertise a string of fine trades. Then they arrive again the subsequent day and have one other string of fine trades. Then the subsequent day the identical factor occurs. So, they’d begin to assume that foreign currency trading is straightforward cash. So, they open an actual account, and guess what, their fortunate streak ends. They expertise losses and swear that the foreign exchange market or the brokers are taking part with them.

However, seasoned merchants know that this is all a part of the sport. Drawdowns do occur. The actual take look at a dealer is how they climate these intervals and be able to catch the subsequent string of fine trades. Seasoned merchants know that buying and selling are all about possibilities. Traders that might both handle to win extra usually than they’re shedding or win larger than they’re shedding might revenue from the foreign exchange market over the long term.

One of the most effective methods to extend possibilities when buying and selling the foreign exchange market is by searching for confluences. These are factors available in the market whereby several situations point out the identical directional bias or reversal sign.

Metro Hull Reversal Forex Trading Strategy is a method that’s hinged around this idea. It trades based mostly on confluences coming from a few complementary indicators.

METRO Indicator

The METRO indicator is a customized technical indicator that helps merchants determine the directional pattern bias in addition to potential pattern reversals, which relies on an underlying Relative Strength Index (RSI).

The METRO indicator plots three traces. The orange line is a primary RSI line. The sky blue and magenta traces are additionally derived from the RSI line however have a ladder-like attribute. The sky-blue line strikes sooner in comparison with the magenta line.

Trend route or bias relies on how these three traces work together. If the RSI line is usually above the magenta line whereas the sky-blue line stays above the magenta line, then the market has a bullish bias. On the opposite hand, the market has a bearish bias if the RSI line is usually under the magenta line whereas the sky-blue line stays under the magenta line.

Crossovers between the three traces are indicative of a pattern reversal. An RSI line and the sky-blue line crossing above the magenta line signify a doable bullish reversal. Inversely, an RSI line and the sky-blue line crossing under the magenta line signify a doable bearish reversal.

Hull Trend

The Hull Trend indicator is one other customized technical indicator that signifies short-term tendencies and momentum.

The Hull Trend indicator relies on the Hull Moving Average (HMA). Most transferring common traces are too lagging and too prone to false alerts coming from uneven markets. The Hull Moving Average is a modified transferring common that locations extra emphasis on the newest value actions making its transferring common line characteristically extra responsive to cost motion and can also be very clean.

The Hull Trend indicator then again is just not a transferring common indicator. Instead, it overlays bars on value motion. These bars change shade relying on the pattern it detect from the underlying HMA line. Blue bars point out a bullish momentum whereas crimson bars point out a bearish momentum.

Trading Strategy

This buying and selling technique is a pattern reversal technique that supplies commerce setups based mostly on the crossover of value motion and a 50-period Exponential Moving Average (EMA) line. However, it additionally makes use of confluences coming from the METRO indicator and the Hull Trend indicator.

First, we observe the marketplace for sturdy crossovers between value motion and the 50 EMA line.

Then, we additionally observe the METRO indicator if the sky-blue line can also stay on the facet of the magenta line which confirms the route of the brand-new pattern.

We ought to then watch for value to retest the 50 EMA line and then reject it.

The closing entry set off or affirmation will probably be a confluence between the RSI line crossing the sky-blue line within the route of the pattern and the altering of the color of Hull Trend bars.

Indicators:

Preferred Time Frames: 15-minute, 30-minute, 1-hour, 4-hour, and day-by-day charts

Currency Pairs: FX majors, minors, and crosses

Trading Sessions: Tokyo, London, and New York periods

Buy Trade Setup

Entry

  • Price motion ought to cross above the 50 EMA line.
  • The sky-blue line of the METRO indicator ought to usually be above the magenta line.
  • Price ought to retrace in the direction of the 50 EMA line and then reject it.
  • The RSI line of the METRO indicator ought to cross above the sky-blue line.
  • The Hull Trend bars ought to change to blue.
  • Enter a purchase order on the affirmation of those situations.

Stop Loss

  • Set the cease loss on the help under the entry candle.

Exit

  • Close the commerce as quickly because the sky-blue line of the METRO indicator crosses under the magenta line.
Sell Trade Setup

Entry

  • Price motion ought to cross under the 50 EMA line.
  • The sky-blue line of the METRO indicator ought to usually be under the magenta line.
  • Price ought to retrace in the direction of the 50 EMA line and then reject it.
  • The RSI line of the METRO indicator ought to cross under the sky-blue line.
  • The Hull Trend bars ought to change to crimson.
  • Enter a promote order on the affirmation of those situations.

Stop Loss

  • Set the cease loss on the resistance above the entry candle.

Exit

  • Close the commerce as quickly because the sky-blue line of the METRO indicator crosses above the magenta line.
Conclusion

This buying and selling technique is a straightforward buying and selling technique based mostly on the crossover of value motion and the 50 EMA line. Crossovers between value motion and the 50 EMA line are an important turning level available in the market that many merchants have a look at. However, many merchants additionally take into account this level because the demise cross might imply a pattern reversal or a fake-out.

This technique nonetheless attempts to extend the likelihood of profitable commerce by incorporating the idea of a retest and rejection based mostly on value motion traits, in addition to confluences coming from two momentum and pattern indicators.

Charging plan (UK)

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 22:02

Hi All,

I’ll be getting a company car soon from my new work when I join. eDrive 40 M Sport trim in Portimao Blue.

I’ll be mostly WFH and trips in suburban London unlikely to be more than 15km per day. Can keep battery around 50% day-to-day.

I don’t know how long I’ll stay in the job so thinking to not invest in an L2 charger right now given all-in cost seems to be around £1,000. Instead, thinking to just use regular home plug in garage for L1 slow charging. Figure I can rely on public fast charging when I need to do occasional longer trip of up to 100 miles round-trip.

Any flaws in this line of thinking?

Any ideas how much to install an external Type G vs commando plug vs L2?

Main reason to not put an external Type G and a smart charging cable was concerns thieves might steal a cable? (Also why if I ever get an L2, it would be a tethered one).

This is a detached house with own driveway.

A Niagara vacation

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 19:35

It was so terribly cold. Snow was falling, and it was almost dark, when out of the blue, my wife called me at work. "We're going to Niagara Falls for the weekend. I got us an awesome deal!"

We had both been working at our first "full-fledged" jobs for a year and had reached that moment after graduation when you suddenly realize you can't make that impact on the world your student enthusiasm once promised. At first, I just sighed. It was the dead of January, and I had already expended all my energy on a week of inconsequential stress. I just wanted to collapse on the couch for two days. Sarah felt a similar weary exhaustion. I could tell. Her tone was more hopeful than excited, but she had dreaded the routine we were sinking into and was trying her best to pull us free.

I looked to the ceiling and adjusted my telephone headset. At that time I was working at Stats Canada on the tele-query desk. I took a deep breath and, as convincingly as possible, said, "Sounds good." I don't think she bought it, but we went nonetheless.

This was Niagara Falls before the casinos when there was a very distinct off-season. When we got to the hotel, we were given the details of our "lovers' special". One dinner to be used either Friday or Saturday, two breakfasts, a roll of tokens for the arcade, 10% off some "4D" movie ride experience, and a 2-for-1 coupon to Max Tussaud's. I guessed it was Madame's nephew? We also got a bottle of sparkling wine in our room and chocolate treats on our pillows. I was impressed. It sounded good.

When we got into our room and saw the "bottle" of wine - basically an aeroplane-sized glass and half - and the chocolates - "fun wrapped" Oh Henry's left over from Halloween - we both started to laugh. The tone for two wonderful days had been set. We decided to cash in on our dinner coupon right away.

The restaurant off the lobby had hopes of being better. There were huge panoramic windows that promised a view of the gorge. Unfortunately, they had some winter moisture problems that day, and it felt like we were defrosting amid the dripping streaks and foggy patches. The decor was your standard booths and tables though the "romantic" lighting was unique. Dollar store battery-powered tea lights were lodged inside thick tumbler glasses and shed a muted pleasantness in a "what a great idea for a craft" sort of way. I had a feeling they were created by our waitress since she was the one who always seemed to be fussing with them. Only one other couple was in the dining room, so she attended to us immediately.

"Can I get you something to start?"

"Sure." "Thank you, that would be nice." We both responded simultaneously.

"And what would the lady like this evening?"

Sarah smiled at the flattery. "I think I'll have a glass of white wine." She glanced over at me to see my reaction. This was a subtle cue of the mood to follow. Diet Coke was usually the beverage of choice. She didn't normally drink alcohol. One glass numbed her nose and made her giggle far too easily. When she did drink, however, it meant she was comfortable with my company and open to anything to follow. I raised my eyebrows in a debonair way.

"And for the gentleman?"

"Do you have Foster's on tap?"

"Yes we do."

"I'll have a pint please."

Sarah smiled at the happy memories I invoked. At university, Foster's was my signature beer. It was at a time when Crocodile Dundee was a known name, and Australia was inexplicably cool. 15 cent buffalo wings and a pitcher of Foster's was the Tuesday night special at the London Arms pub. There the Classics Club would meet and, as a group, circle the wagons and drink ourselves into extroverts.

As soon as the waitress left, Sarah smiled at me. She reached out and held my hand across the table. With my gaze on hers, she slipped her foot from her shoe and slowly began sliding it up my pant leg.

"I got a pedicure this morning." She announced seductively.

I nodded and pretended I didn't notice her invitation. "What colour?" I asked.

"I'm not telling." She teased. "You'll just have to find out later." Her devious little smile was gorgeous.

"Mmmm. I can't wait."

When the waitress returned with our drinks, we immediately retreated to our personal spaces as if we had been discovered by the chaperone. Sarah opened the menu and began to salivate at the variety.

"Can we add an appetizer to the package dinner?" Her question seemed innocent enough.

"You're on the package?" Our friendly waitress disappeared, and we were no longer a lady or a gentleman. She ripped the menu out of Sarah's hand and took mine before I had even opened it. She then scurried to her podium and brought back a tattered, grease-stained, photocopied page that we had to share. We both burst out laughing.

The waitress was flustered that we were not as bothered as she was. "The drinks are NOT included!"

"What choices do we have?" I asked, expecting the usual chicken or fish. I had been on many packages before with my parents.

"Coffee or tea." The waitress snapped.

Sarah and I looked at each other in amused disbelief.

"I'll have coffee please." I didn't even flinch at the ridiculously limited package. I was eager to get my order in early.

"And I'll have the tea!" Sarah followed my lead. "Can I have some milk with that?"

"Yes." The waitress snarled.

"Fantastic!" I enthused.

"Yes, great! I'm glad we got the package, Honey." Sarah joked.

The waitress stormed off and returned sometime later with our lettuce-only salads drowned in Kraft's Italian dressing and our chewy chicken dinners, which she had thoughtfully allowed to cool. She tossed the plates on the table and left us to peacefully devour our deal. We didn't see her again until we requested the bill. For some reason, we found it amusing to leave a generous tip, which of course, defeated the purpose of the package, but we didn't care. It was fun.

The rest of the holiday was marred with similar off-season products and services. The wax museum was only half open, so we couldn't see the pop stars of the seventies. I didn't think it was a problem, but Sarah pouted playfully. She really wanted to see young Bowie. Meanwhile, the arcade was particularly stingy about spitting out coupons. So much so that Mike, the scraggly-haired repair guy, ended up escorting us from game to game and repairing the devices on demand. In no time, he was acting like an old drinking buddy. He joked and laughed, then, out of the blue, revealed that working at the Niagara Falls Fun Centre wasn't his career choice, that his dream was to be part of a travelling carnival. He desperately wanted to see more of the world, he explained and socialize with a greater variety of "wildlife." Mike winked at Sarah to punctuate his meaning, then began advising her on which games to play.

Sarah was partial to Skee ball and clearly had career potential in the sport, but Mike quickly pointed out that the token-to-coupon payout was not the best. In a furtive whisper, he revealed that The Storm Stopper was your best bet, provided the arcade had left it on its original factory settings. He assured us the ones here were "cool." The game had lights that ran around the outside in opposite directions and you had to hit the button at just the right spot to win. It looked impossible, but Mike was right; if you calculated tokens in versus coupons won, it was the best deal. It only took a little practice to win a minor jackpot every 5 or 6 times.

We would cheer each win as if Toronto had won the Stanley Cup. I would give a quick fist pump and a full lung "Yes!" while Sarah would jump up and down screaming, "WhoooHooo!" Of course, in the end, when we cashed in, "Mike's secret" only bumped us up from a key-chain flashlight to a "deluxe" nail beauty set. Mind you, it did come complete with clippers, scissors, a file AND a cuticle scraper. Not only that, it was all neatly packaged in a paisley-patterned pink and green plastic vinyl case. Mike was so pleased to give us our prize and to be honest, we were thrilled to win it if only to see his broad chicletted smile. It was more of a trophy than a grooming set.

That night, I made reservations for us at a fancy Chinese food restaurant - the Bamboo Garden. When we arrived, we had half-expected renovations of some sort. Instead, the place was immaculate. Gentle pools teeming with goldfish highlighted the epic black and red Ming dynasty decor. Real candles flickered on crisp white tablecloths. Again, the restaurant was virtually ours. The reservations on my part were entirely unnecessary. In fact, as soon as we entered, they knew us by name and guided us directly to our table. A live lounge piano caressed the air, its notes danced vaguely around familiar harmonies until finally, as if prompted by our presence, a song emerged immediately accompanied by the velvet voice of oriental karaoke. It was our song remastered

Hypothetical Euroleague Format.

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 16:52

A couple weeks ago I posted an idea for a 20 team Euroleague format which is more in-line with the traditional European pyramid system (rewards teams chiefly on domestic success) but also gives traditionally elite clubs ample opportunity to qualify should they have a bad season domestically. I took some feedback on it and revised the initial idea. Obviously I am doing this just for fun but I'm still curious to hear what you guys think.

To state openly; I am not a fan of keeping this closed/licensed system in the long-term but I acknowledge that it has increased the quality of European basketball in recent years (at least at the highest level). Basketball is still a growing sport in Europe and clubs do not have nearly the budget of football clubs which is why dropping out of European competition would be a huge shock even to the big clubs. In the long-term however, Euroleague does need to move away from a fully closed system (having only 3-4 wildcards a year is realistically a fully closed system) not only in the name of fairness/meritocracy but for the sake of growing the game and opening up the competition to new teams and developing markets. If your goal is growing the game then its only natural you want more teams capable of playing at the highest level.

Disclaimer: Format assumes the eventual return of Russian teams. Whether that's in 2 years, 5 years or 10 years I don't know but realistically they will be back one day.

Direct Qualification (11-13 Spots)

Direct qualification will be based on merit, both on domestic and continental levels. Most spots will be reserved for the champions of traditionally strong domestic leagues. Two spots will be reserved for the defending champions as well as the champions of the Europcup of the previous season. Spain as the strongest league in Europe has two direct spots (champions and runner-ups). Anywhere from 11-13 teams directly qualifying depending on whether the Euroleague or Eurocup champions are also champions of their domestic league.

Direct spots granted to;

1 Spanish Champion

2 Spanish Runner-Up

3 Turkish Champion

4 Greek Champion

5 Russian Champion

6 Italian Champion

7 Lithuanian Champion

8 Adriatic Champion

9 German Champion

10 French Champion

11 Israeli Champion

  1. Defending Euroleague Champion (*If not already Domestic Champion)

  2. Euro-Cup Champion (*If not already Domestic Champion)

Qualification Licenses

The license system will be replaced by a system which grants license holders automatic spots in the qualification tournament(s) should they fail to win their respective domestic league. All traditionally strong leagues will have two teams granted qualification licenses; Greece, Italy, Turkey, Russia, Germany, Adriatic League, Lithuania, Israel & France. Spain with exception will have four teams granted qualification licenses. These licenses are conditional on domestic and continental success; teams with licenses must constantly defend or “renew” their license by securing one of three main titles; Domestic Champion, Euroleague Champion or Eurocup Champion.

For example; In the case of teams belonging to leagues with two license holders, if a licensed team fails to secure one of the three main titles in a five year period and another team from their domestic league achieves one of these titles, that license is then transferred to the opposing team. (Disclaimer: obviously every possible scenario needs to thought out but in essence, there would be system of defending your license.)

Teams with Initial Licenses; Real Madrid, Barcelona, Baskonia, Valencia, Milano, Virtus, Olympiacos, Panathinaikos, Fenerbahce, Efes, Zalgiras, Ryatas, CSKA, UNICS, Bayern ,ALBA, Zvezda, Partizan, Monaco, Asvel, Maccabi, Hapoel Jerusalem or Hapoel Holon (Idk some Israeli fan can give me their opinion)

Qualification Process/Tournament

The format of the qualification tournament would change every year depending on how many teams with licenses must be accommodated and how many available spots there are in the regular season (Anywhere from 7 to 9 depending on whether Euroleague/Eurocup Champions are also domestic champions). In addition to licensed clubs, champions of some select leagues will be granted a spot in the qualifying process; Poland, Latvian-Estonian League, BNXT League. Two spots will also be reserved for Euroleague and Eurocup Finalists should they not have direct qualification through being domestic champions. Ideally there will always be 16 teams competing in two stages. 2nd stage of the process will depend on how many spots are available;

1st Stage (Always the same): four tournaments of four teams each playing round robin (four host cities). 1st in each group advances directly to Euroleague.

2nd Stage (If 7 spots): Four teams that placed 2nd in their group advance to 2nd stage. Two matchups are made with winners moving onto Euroleague. Losers of the matchups play in final game with winner moving onto Euroleague.

2nd Stage (If 8 spots): 2nd place teams get matched with 3rd place teams in another group. One single elimination game played at home court of 2nd placed team. Winners move onto Euroleague.

2nd Stage (If 9 spots): 1st and 2nd teams from each group move onto Euroleague. 3rd placed teams play a four team elimination tournament with winner moving onto Euroleague.

If there are less than 16 teams initially qualified for tournaments, wildcards will be filled by teams that belong to leagues with no direct qualification I.E London Lions, Cluj-Napoca OR qualifying can be expanded to 20 teams (four tournaments, five teams each) to make room for 4 wildcard spots.

MOCK SEASON 23/24 SEASON BASED ON RESULTS OF 22/23 SEASON

Direct Qualification (12 Teams)

1 Spanish Champion: Real Madrid

2 Spanish Runner-Up: Barcelona

3 Turkish Champion: Andolou Efes

4 Greek Champion: Olympiacos

5 Russian Champion: UNICS

6 Italian Champion: Olimpia Milano

7 Lithuanian Champion: Zalgiras

8 Adriatic Champion: Partizan

9 German Champion: Ratiopharm Ulm

10 French Champion: AS Monaco

11 Israeli Champion: Maccabi

12 Euro-Cup Champion: Gran Canaria

Qualification Tournaments (16 teams competing for 8 remaining spots)

  1. Baskonia
  2. Valencia
  3. Fenerbahce
  4. Panathinaikos
  5. Virtus
  6. CSKA
  7. Ryatas
  8. Crvena Zvezda
  9. Bayern Munich
  10. Alba Berlin
  11. ASVEL
  12. Hapoel Jerusalem
  13. Turk Telekom
  14. Wilki Morskie Szczecin
  15. Filou Oostende
  16. BC Prometey
Justifications
  • 20 team format ensures participation of only top teams with high budgets and high attendance. (Consistent high quality games with high quality atmosphere)
  • Round robin format ensures Euroleague derbies every season as opposed to alternative formats with a group stage. (Great for viewership).
  • Elimination of license system ensures direct qualification only based on merit and domestic success.
  • Qualification License system grants traditionally strong clubs who fail to qualify for direct spot a place in qualification tournament.
  • Needing to defend your Qualification License means licenses are based on merit. Ability to “steal” a license provides growing and successful clubs upward mobility in European basketball based on results, not merely financing.
  • Qualification system would ensure suspense and drama to qualification process. Tournaments would attract visiting fans and create play-off atmospheres before the season even begins.
  • Qualification process would be over in only 2 weeks and create the perfect balance between qualification on merit and giving former licensed teams a lifeline if they have a poor domestic season.
  • Wildcards in Qualification process used to reward growing teams from smaller leagues/emerging markets and give them a chance at Euroleague participation (i.e. London Lions, Cluj-Napoca)
  • Outside of recognizing Spanish League as the strongest, the format does not attempt to make judgment on relative league strength. There is plenty of opportunity for traditionally strong teams from traditionally strong leagues to qualify.
  • Maximum amount of teams from one country would be 5 (would really only apply to Spain).
Challenges;
  • Playoffs would likely need to be shortened to three game series due to time constraints, Play-in system cut out indefinitely.
  • Probably shorter off-season due to longer season.
  • There would need to be universal agreement among all major domestic leagues to reduce amount of games due to increased # of games in European competition.
  • Would need to increase the prestige and scale of Eurocup competition to compensate for reduced amount of games on domestic level. Eurocup would need to become a much more serious and watched competition than it is now.

Moving to Arlington as a 32 year old, single man

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 10:57

Hi all,

I am a single 32yr old man living in London. I have lived here my whole life and I sort of feel like I am in a rut and I need a big big change. I work for one of the biggest tech companies in the world, who has a head office in Arlington. I've spoken about this with my manager in the past and she has said that they could move me there if I wanted. I am not a software developer, but despite this, moving to Arlington would easily double my pay.

In my head, I sort of have a 2 year plan. After two years I would come back to England (unless something kept me there longer).

I don't really know how to ask this apart from the fact that it would be great to get peoples opinions on a move to Arlington.

I do enjoy living in a big city, and I know that Arlington isn't the big metropolis that London is. If I moved there, I would prefer to be somewhere close to my office with things near by where I can entertain myself in the evenings and the winter weekends. I am not against the outdoors. Although I don't typically do a lot of outdoors (hiking etc) here, I think I would be quite excited to check out all the national parks and everything that Arlington and Virginia have to offer.

I can drive but my initial plan is to be in a place where a car is not necessary. Is this possible in Arlington?

I think I would earn around $115k a year (pre-tax) in Arlington. It seems like rent for a 1 bed apartment is around $2.5k a month. What are the general cost of bills? If I was living fairly frugally (cooking my own lunches, eating out maybe once a week, once every two weeks etc, trying to do free activities and sports), is it possible to save 50% of my monthly pay check? Or would I have to be living REALLY frugally, at which point I wouldn't enjoy living there?

The company I work at is absolutely huge, but they are know for being frugal and do not provide like free lunches etc that other tech companies do. I therefore don't know if we get benefits like medical care and other insurance that I have heard is necessary in Arlington.

The other thing I would love to know about is social life. For people who have moved, did you make friends and social circle? Did they come through work or sports or other ways?

Any thoughts or advice would be really appreciated!

Dead by Daylight - ALICE Chapter (SURVIVOR OVERVIEW)

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 09:11

Survivor: ALICE LIDDELL

Description:

A resourceful, curious, and defiant girl who survived a very queer and dangerous land.

Her personal perks, BOON: DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE, CURIOSITY, and DEFIANCE, give her more control in the air, reward her inquisitiveness, and make escaping a killer’s grasp easier.

Backstory:

Alice Liddell is the sole survivor of a house fire that killed her family, causing her to have immense trauma when she was a child, affecting her reality, as well as her imaginary world, Wonderland, and its citizens.

As Alice struggled with the fragments of her memories, post-traumatic stress disorder, and deteriorating mental health after a ten-year catatonic state in Rutledge Asylum, she returned to Wonderland to save it from the Queen of Hearts, killing the monsters inside her head.

Alice regained enough sanity to leave Rutledge and Pris Witless helped Alice to get a room at the Houndsditch Home for Wayward Youth. Her psychiatrist and head of Houndsditch, Angus Bumby, helped Alice forget her traumatic memories using hypnotherapy. Unfortunately, Alice still suffered from poor mental health and returned to Wonderland to find the true cause of her family’s death. After discovering that Bumby was the mastermind behind her family’s death, having murdered Lizzie in her bed, then starting the fire to cover his crime, Alice murdered him to avenge her family. With her reality fused with Wonderland, Cheshire Cat remarked that their memory was safe for the time being. However, a thick fog washed over Wonderland, surprising even the Cheshire Cat. As the fog faded away, neither of them were in Wonderland anymore, or at the very least, no recognizable part of Wonderland. Curiouser and curiouser…

Perks:

BOON: DOWN THE RABBIT-HOLE

You know how to control your body in the air with the help of butterflies.

You can bless a dull or hex totem to turn it into a boon totem.

Any survivors within the boon totem gain these effects:

-Fall faster than normal

-Greater control while in the air

-Don’t scream while falling

Any survivor within the boon totem also gain the ability to summon butterflies when falling. To summon butterflies, hold the crouch button while falling. Butterflies will surround your legs, making you fall slower than normal.

“Save myself? From death? Is that it? Is that why I’ve come here? I’m not afraid to die. ‘Times I’ve welcomed death.” -Alice Liddell

CURIOSITY

Curiosity won’t kill any cats this time.

After looking at the killer for a while, you gain a token. You can hold a max of 3 tokens at a time. When you have a token, you can use one at any moment to see the aura of the killer and gain the hindered status effect for a limited time.

“Confront what frightens or offends you. Reckless or insulting talk should never go unchallenged.” -Cheshire Cat

DEFIANCE

You choose to defy madness, your determination to do so fortifies your resilience.

While recovering in the dying state, DEFIANCE activates. The more you recover, the greater the effects of DEFIANCE become. When picked up by the killer, they pick you up slower and your wiggle progress is faster.

“You’ve used and abused me, but you will not destroy me.” -Alice Liddell

Race Report - Manchester Marathon - surprise sub 3:30 (just) over 22 minute PB and negative split

London Sport News - Fri, 04/19/2024 - 09:07

I wasn't sure whether to post my race report in this sub but I do think I fit into the attempting to improve myself part of it and I have certainly upped my training and been more focussed since my first marathon. Also I always enjoy reading race reports from other female runners and know there aren't as many in here so I'm adding mine as a 39F determined to improve as a runner and trying to structure productive training around full time work and parenting two young children with their own hobbies that fill our evenings and weekends.

Race Information Goals Goal Description Completed? A Sub 3:40 Yes B Sub 3:45 Yes C PB (Sub 3:52:51) Yes Splits Kilometer Time 10 51:28 21 1:47:48 30 2:32:04 42.2 3:29:54 Training

I ran Manchester as my first marathon last year using a training plan I'd put together on a spreadsheet by combining the intermediate marathon plan on Garmin Connect (mostly as a guide for long runs and speed sessions) and an online plan I found. I had panicked at the time that my training wasn't enough both when comparing to running friends and when reading every post on reddit that says "you need more volume" but pleasantly surprised myself by finishing well under my A goal with a strong negative split. I decided I probably could have run a faster time and immediately signed up again. This time I started working on my base earlier as well as following a strength training programme put together by a sports physio, I'd also dropped some weight. I did buy Daniels' Running Formula intending to use that for my plan but found it quite confusing (I'm going to go back to it now) so decided that as my previous training worked I'd do the same again but add some volume by doing longer mid-week runs as well as my weekend long run. As I got to the peak of training my long runs included a "fast finish" with my peak week long run being 120 minutes easy followed by 60 minutes at marathon pace. This was taken from the garmin plan and as I'd managed to speed up through the race the previous year I figured I could go for the same approach. My overall volume was still definitely on the lower end averaging at 50km a week across the full block with my highest week being 71.76km (clear sign I do most of my runs based on time and not distance!) I am working on building my base volume over time, in 2023 I averaged 35km per week but in 2022 it was 25km per week so I'm definitely progressing, I'm just trying to do it steadily and avoid injury.

I didn't miss any training sessions, some had to be shuffled around thanks to family life but I got it done. In terms of paces I was training with my A goal of sub 3:40 in mind so the marathon paced efforts were supposed to be 5:12/k however I often found myself struggling to slow to that pace. For easy efforts I was running at around 5:50-6/k sometimes slower, I wasn't really aiming for a pace more a feel and always had my watch face set to only show elapsed time on these runs. I started with 4 runs and 2 strength sessions in the gym per week then in the last 6 weeks dropped the gym (this was the advice from my strength coach) and added in another easy run.

Pre-race

I travelled to Manchester on Saturday afternoon after a big pasta lunch at home, I was staying in my hotel alone so took instant noodles, crisps and a sports drink as my delicious evening meal pre race, sounds grim but it was fine. I'd been eating really well in the days beforehand and knew from experience that this wouldn't irritate my stomach. I checked and checked again all my kit, the tram timetable and that my alarms were set and went to bed. I think I slept fairly well, garmin disagreed as usual but I ignored it. I hadn't booked the hotel breakfast and instead ate two packets of instant oats and banana in my room, by the bottom of the second pot I was struggling so didn't push it and set off on my walk to the tram stop. The tram was fine, I chatted to a couple of other runners and tried to stay relaxed. I got to the cricket ground in plenty of time and went to one of the many portaloos before heading to bag drop and then getting in a different portaloo queue. My wave got called whilst I was in the toilet queue but then when I tried to walk through they hadn't actually let everyone to the start yet so it was all OK. I had a gel, another toilet pit stop (I either have a thimble for a bladder or this was nerves...probably the latter) and then found a spot in my wave and tried to talk myself down from my nerves.

Race

I do all my training in km so was trying to remember what it converted to in miles so I'd be able to work out if I was OK on the splits, I'd planned to write them on my arm but forgot. I figured out it was something under 8:20 per mile then wondered whether I could combine my 8 times tables and remembering how many seconds added up to another minute once I got past 3 miles...I suppose my terrible race maths was a good distraction! I had my watch set to show elapsed time, average pace and lap pace but completely forgot to hit the lap button at the first mile marker and the km laps were coming up as being ahead of the 5km markers on course so I mostly ignored the lap pace section. What I did know was that my legs wanted to go and it was a desperate battle from my brain to convince myself to slow down. I remember that my watch beeped that 5km ahead of the marker and showed 25:32 (OK I have gone back to garmin to check what it showed me but I remember seeing 25-something) then I got to the actual marker and I think it was just a smidge under 26, this was good, I knew that goal pace meant under 26 minutes fo the first 5km, all was going well. I took water at the water station, I reminded myself again to calm down and just keep ticking along at my current pace at least until half way. Then we hit 5 miles and Deansgate and the absolute wall of supporters cheering and that was it, I couldn't slow down. I knew I wasn't wildly over my goal pace but was fairly concerned I wouldn't be able to hold that pace for the full marathon. 10k on my watch flashed up at 50:43, I hit the timing mat at 51:28 so this was where I knew I definitely could ignore the lap pace on my watch as it was fairly far off the course (thanks to me failing to hit the lap button) and just half check the average pace and desperately attempt maths using my timer and the markers.

Once out of the city centre it is a long drag out of town and towards Timperley but I still thought this area was really well supported. It was on this section where I saw the speedy guys coming back into town, this wasn't as horrifying as it was the previous year when I was in a later wave and there were loads of runners heading back whilst my race was only just starting but still always humbling to think how far ahead they are from a 40 minute head start vs my wave. I allowed myself to check my watch at the halfway point, this was also where I'd told myself I could pick up the pace. According to my chip timing I went through the half at 1:47:48, I did realise that I'd definitely already sped up from the 10k point. I once again had a minor panic about keeping up this pace but I'd been sticking to my fuelling plan (every 20 minutes alternating chews and gels then taking water at every station and trying to drink half the bottle) and I did a little body assessment and decided I felt fine. I knew the bit everyone dreads at Manchester was still ahead of me with the hill in Altrincham so thought just try to stick to this pace, maybe speed up when you see the 20 mile marker if you have anything left in the tank.

Looking at my garmin data the km including that hill in Altrincham was unsurprisingly my slowest since the first km with another 5:11 but considering that had been my planned pace for the full distance nothing really to complain about. I guess compared to the rest of the course it's a bit spicy but I'm hardened by the hills of West Yorkshire so I didn't think it was too bad. I could see that my average pace was dropping to the low 5:0something and just kept thinking hold on to 20 miles and see how you feel. I hit the 30k timing mat at just over 2:32 and at this point for friends who were tracking me it said my estimated finish time was 3:33:52 I remember seeing that and thinking OK I have 1hr 7 minutes to run 12km can I even do that at this point...what if I can't. I still felt good but around me people were pulling up with cramps and to walk. I tried to ignore it, picked people to either hang on the shoulder of or overtake and pushed on.

When I saw the 20 mile marker I thought this is it, about 10km to go, I can't even remember what the time said on my watch, all I remember is that the number in average pace had dropped again and now started with a 4. I think this is where I stopped looking at my watch, all I could think was you have to keep going, don't slow down. I definitely took my gel at 3 hours but was feeling a bit sick by this point, I didn't take my last chew or a drink at the last water station as all I could think was get to the finish, you're nearly done. I told myself to keep smiling, enjoy the support (which was just incredible) and keep going. Every time someone in the crowd shouted my name I nearly burst into tears as I was so overwhelmed. I had no clue where I was with my time at that point, just that I needed to keep moving and not let my pace drop.

I felt like I was starting to fade a little in that final mile but then I recognised the final corner before the finish and my spirits lifted again, it was nearly over. I'd had some music on up to this point but switched it off as I turned that corner, I had been able to hear over it anyway as I use bone conducting headphones and the volume wasn't up that loud anyway but I wanted to hear everything as I attempted a sprint finish. I pushed myself as hard as I could down that final stretch and over the timing mat. I stopped my watch and it read 3:30:02 then the message came through, my chip time was 3:29:54 I'd somehow managed a sub 3:30 finish, a GFA for London and a BQ (OK maybe not actually enough of a buffer but as I can't go to Boston anyway I'll take being able to say it's a BQ time for my age category) and had run a negative split.

Post-race

As I shuffled my way through the finish area to get back to the bag drop my phone was going mad with messages from my running friends who had been tracking me. I called my husband and had a chat with my children, not sure how impressed the children were but my husband was very supportive. I retrieved my bag and made my way back onto a tram, this was probably the worst part of it all. I was really hungry and all that was being handed out was water and alcohol free erdinger, I understand avoiding waste but I'd have appreciated something as it was a long way back to the bag drop and I was there alone so had no one waiting with a snack. I ended up getting some overpriced chips from a fast food van as I was worried it would be ages before I could get to my hotel, this was the right idea as it did indeed take a long time. They had definitely changed the event village from last year and finding my way to the tram stop took forever then one came and everyone rushed to get on leaving me standing feeling stupid on the platform and waiting another 12 minutes for the next one. I eventually made it back to my hotel as I'd booked for two nights, I didn't fancy a sweaty train journey on the Sunday afternoon! I was honestly mostly in shock as I never expected to run a time like that. My legs felt sore but I was still mobile so all OK. I got showered, ate in the hotel's restaurant and then just watched trash TV because my brain was mush.

I still can't quite believe the time I ran, next for me is to work on my self-belief and then look at booking races to target PBs in my half marathon and 10k as my strava best efforts for those distances are now as part of this race. I will be editing that on strava at some point as I don't really think it counts but I've left it for now.
