In the process of being diagnosis.. Having a tough time getting appointments.
Hello!
Over the past year, I've been having headaches off and on. They would usually be focused in my temples or behind my eye. With the other symptoms that I was having, my family doctor told me that I was having cluster headaches and I never followed up on it.
Back on March 21st, I was having severe headaches for the past 4 days with neck stiffness, lower back pain, random pain in my legs/arms, and occasional nausea. The headaches would get worse when I would cough or bend over. I scheduled a virtual visit with my family doctor and they prescribed me steroids, azelastine, and Flonase. I didn't end up taking them because my symptoms seemed to be going away.
On March 27th, I woke up with a killer headache, light sensitivity in my right eye, and my right eye was killing me. It hurt when I would move it or even blink. I thought that maybe my cat stepped on my eye while I was sleeping because I'm a heavy sleeper lol. I ended up getting my things together to take my wife to get an ultrasound. She is pregnant with our first so I was excited to see our little one! While I was on the road, I was experiencing double vision. This was the first time I have ever experienced vision issues and it happened suddenly. I started to panic but realized the double vision would go away when I would look up. After the appointment, my wife and I decided to head over to the ER.. They did a CT scan, gave me IV fluids, IV Tylenol and a magnesium drip. They told me that it sounds like I'm having "complex" migraines and I should see a neurologist.
By the next day, my double vision wasn't letting up and things started to have a yellow tint to them through my right eye.. The best way I can describe it is things look cool toned through my left eye, and warm toned through my right eye. I scheduled an appointment with an optometrist to see if I could get some kind of answers.
I went through the tests and it seemed like everything was fine but my SCODI numbers were lower than they should be for my age (I'm 28). She referred me to an ophthalmologist who was able to see me same day. He ordered an MRI of the brain, MRI of the orbits, and an MRA, all with and without contrast. The report from the visit was:
Diplopia OD: Diplopia with right hypertropia, exotropia and mild proptosis. There is history of visual disturbance and also pain yesterday. Differential diagnosis is orbital inflammatory syndrome, Tolosa-Hunt, vascular pathology or neoplastic pathology. Recommend MRI with and without contrast of head and orbit + MRA for evaluation stat. Patient to come back ASAP after receiving results. Glaucoma Suspect, Low Risk (Optic Nerve) OU: Follow for now.
It took me some time to get the prior authorization for the scans but I was finally able to get it done.. Recently, I had a severe headache with pain behind my right eye, and in my temples. The pain would radiate to my molars. It was almost unbearable, so I scheduled an emergency appointment with their office. I met with the doctor again and he noted the following:
Intracranial Hypertension OD: Pathogenesis and natural history discussed and patient's questions reviewed again with patient. Today's visit shows concern for Questionable Cluster Headache. Reviewed MRI with and w/o Contrast IV results with patient Results show Impression showed some Optic Nerve Tortuosity and space sella turcica is nearly empty with a thin rim of enhancing pituitary noted. Concern for Intercranial hypertension. Recommending Lumbar Puncture. Will refer immediately Neurology for Pseudotumor evaluation and possible Lumbar Puncture. Other Discussion: 04/10/2024: MRI results received and reviewed with patient through office. Recommending PT see Neurology ASAP for possible pseudotumor with vision loss.
The soonest that I can get in with a neurologist is on May 13th.. I am worried that my vision may get worse if I don't get treated soon.. I've been wearing an eye patch over my right eye just to function normally. The ophthalmologist's office and I have been calling around to get me into a neurologic ophthalmologist. It would take months to see a neurologic ophthalmologist here in San Antonio, so I've been calling around in Houston hoping that I find a sooner appointment. I don't really know what to do for the pain as the office hasn't prescribed me anything and I've been rotating Tylenol and ibuprofen when my headache flares up with no relief. I was thinking about contacting my family doctor but I'm not sure that they would do anything for my pain. I've considered going to the ER when it gets bad but sadly they didn't help me with my pain either. Feeling a bit scared and helpless.. Reaching out to see if anyone has suggestions for some relief and working though the diagnosis process

ISO Texas Bluebonnet
I’m sure this is a long shot, but I just visited the Alamo in San Antonio and went with my pressed penny hopes high. They had one machine with 3 pennies I was hoping for and the machine was out of order. (By ooo, I mean the entire inner mechanism is gone. Wah.) Anyway, I thought maybe someone might be able to help a girl out.
I was hoping for the San Antonio skyline penny, the Texas cowboy penny, and most importantly the bluebonnet penny.
Here’s hoping!!!

Where to find marinated raw crab AKA Ganjang gejang
I have had the urge to try marinated raw crab a korean disk and had recently returned from a trip from Japan which some of the restruants had served it there but unfortunately I was unable to try it. Does anyone know a good place or ANY place that sells this dish in or around san antonio tx? Or outside, within TX state?

Drove from San Antonio to New Orleans to pick up this “used” FTR with 28 miles on the odometer
Garden ridge or Stone Oak/Timberwood
We are relocating to San Antonio and have narrowed it down to these two communities. Priorities for us are really schools and the community feel. We have found houses that we like in both areas. We have never lived in San Antonio before so it’s very important to us that we are able to integrate into the community quickly, so would love to hear feedback about these areas to help us make a decision! Thank you!

I’ve done some research and I’ve heard it’s a good department but I want some second opinions first is the San Antonio fire department, a good place to work?

Running less than 6 months, my review.
My daily runners are Invincible 3 with CurRex medium arches. My best 5k and only 5k race was 2 months after starting running (4 months ago) in the Invincibles and I ran it in just under 30 minutes. — My usual training pace is 10+’ mile. I got Vomeros as my backups, but they just feel flat to me, and I only wear them so I don’t get habituated to the cloud feel of the Invincibles.
I wanted to get the BEST shoes in the world, so I’d have no equipment excuses. So I splurged for the AF3 which I got through eBay. They arrived today. I have a cold and didn’t think I could run much, but I had to try them. I laced them up to go out in the afternoon 80 degree San Antonio drizzle. — The first thing I noticed was the spring in my step, and that the heel was less stable than the Invincible, but having been running for 6 months, I figured I could stay upright. Once I started running, it was obvious that the AF3 is designed to be run at a cadence greater than 165 which is my usual. The harmonic frequency of the AF3 pushed me to run a cadence greater than 170 which also pushed me to cruise at a pace of 9’20”-mile but felt like my usual 10’20”. I’m sure there was a psychological push from “expensive new shoes”, but it really did feel like I was cheating wearing these.
I was doing a Nike Run Club speed run (alternating speeds and walking between speeds), and even with that, and even while sick, I still ran my second fastest 5k ever. And I wasn’t even trying to beat any records.
These shoes are amazing, and it feels really good to go fast.

Great Pyrenees on the Street
Is anyone able to rescue? I have seen so many posts of this beautiful dog. I have too many in my home right now and cannot take him in. I’m reaching out to rescues as well.

The Long Game is finally seeing a wide release and has been receiving a significant amount of local attention. Based on the critically acclaimed self-published book by author Humberto G. Garcia which was set in Del Rio in 1955, it follows the story of five young Mexican-American caddies who created their own golf course in the middle of the South Texas desert. They would go on to compete against teams from wealthy districts and win the 1957 Texas State High School Golf Championship. More can be read at:
