Where to stay?

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 17:47

Hi, beautiful people of San Diego, I need some suggestions.

I will do some work in a center near SDSU for 1 to 2 years. The center is next to Alvarado station, green line. I need to find a place to stay and see if I can get away without leasing a car.

Apartments near sdsu are furnished, which can be convenient, but got some drawback, such as academic year lease term, too much parties. Looking to find a place near green line. Need a studio or 1 bedroom.

If I also need the place to have walking distance access to k-8 school, cause my kid may want to visit one semester or two, where are the options?

If the options are very limited with these constraints, I will have to lease a car, what could be a good place to go for a short term car lease?

Road Trip Route Suggestions

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 17:39

I have a cross country road trip in my '23 MYLR ahead of me this summer. San Diego to Charlotte. The two main route options seem to be I-10 & I-20, and I-40. Anyone with experience know if ones of these is vastly better than the other in terms of road quality, views, amenities, anything that might not show up easily on a google search? The time and charging infra seems roughly similar, so wanted to check with the group if anyone had experience with any of these routes.

35 [M4F] #San Diego #Usa - Quadriplegic man seeking connection that leads to a LTR

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 17:23

Let's get this out of the way first....I was born with a degenerative muscle disorder and I use a power wheelchair. I have severe muscle weakness throughout my entire body which includes my cardiac and pulmonary muscles. As you can imagine dating is a bit more difficult for me but I have found love on Reddit before so I’m back to find it again.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME: I would definitely call myself an introvert. I'm extremely even-tempered so it takes a lot to piss me off and/or offend me. I'm a good listener and very easy to talk to, I have been described by previous partners as genuine, kind and sweet. In person I can come across as quiet and shy at first but, I just need a little time to get comfortable with someone before I really open up. Me---https://imgur.com/a/Qf6HHVg

Some things I enjoy....

-Making people smile/laugh

-Watching sports(Padres and Chargers)

-The cringiest of puns d4d jokes

-Standup comedy...Tom Segura, Bill Burr, Bert Kreischer, Andrew Schulz, Bobby Lee, Norm MacDonald, Mark Normand, Dave Chapelle, and many more.

-Collecting Batman memorabilia

-Podcasts like YMH, Tigerbelly, Kill Tony, TYSO, 2 Bears 1 Cave, Bad Friends, etc.

-Music...I'm into mostly Alternative Rock and Classic Rock but I'm into some pop and everything really. For the past year I've been pretty obsessed with a band from the UK called Wet Leg, but some of my favorites include: Cage The Elephant, Foo Fighters, Little Hurricane, Nothing But Thieves, RHCP, Nirvana, The White Stripes, Queen, The Eagles, AURORA, and so many more

-Going to concerts

-Watching series, I just finished Dear Child and Who is Erin Carter? on Netflix, but my all time favorite is Breaking Bad

-Watching movies like horror, thrillers, sci-fi, comedy, and Super Hero stuff is fun

-Taskmaster!

ABOUT YOU: I’m looking for my best friend and partner, someone who wants a serious relationship. I want someone who is kind and compassionate, trustworthy and genuine. Someone with a sense of (sometimes dark)humor who can make me laugh and doesn’t take themselves too seriously. Someone who is not afraid to be silly sometimes. As for location, the closer the better so it's easier to meet up but I don’t mind long distance as long as there is a plan to see each other often. It would be ideal if you could eventually relocate because that is currently not an option for me.

To show me that you’ve read the entire post and are serious please include the word football in your message. If you have any questions regarding my condition please feel free to ask me ANYTHING.

OhDon’t be put off by my disability, I don’t bite (unless you're into that ;)

Where should I move?

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 17:15

Hey im a software engineer on the east coast of Canada. I'm planning on moving to the US, I just wanna know what states/cities would work for me.

I hate the weather here I need it to be decently warm and sunny, I can bear hot weather I lived in the middle east.

I need good tech opportunities and salary, at the same time as having the place not be too expensive. Not sure if it's possible to work in one state and live in another while earning the same.

Ideally on the coast(lakes work).

San Diego looks great but still too expensive. Maybe somewhere in Florida but they have bad opportunities.

Fundraising Attempt For My Daughter

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 12:44

https://gofund.me/f163de00

Quick summary....I've set up this GoFundMe for my daughter (she's the beneficiary, and only she can make withdrawals from the fund) for her to be able to stay in the San Diego area for just a little bit longer so she can finish her school that's already been paid off. She's no longer able to stay with her mother, and couch surfing from place to place isn't really an option. She's also trying to turn her part-time job into a full-time job when/if her employer allows. I've been unemployed for over a year now but make some money from time to time through independent consulting, so I contribute as much as I can when I can, and I also have some donations for her from family that can come through occasionally in this rough economy. That said, a GoFundMe is a Hail Mary for support for her. Any money donated will go towards hotel expenses for the next few weeks and the cost of getting her and her stored belongings back here to Texas once she's graduated. Anyone that feels moved to help and is able to....thank you and bless you.

Abandoned Cars

San Diego Sport News Reddit - Sun, 05/05/2024 - 12:40

I live in Chula Vista on a street with many apartment complexes so parking is rough which is understandable, but there are a lot of cars on this block that have not moved in months and do not get moved EVER. It’s hella annoying cuz parking is already bad here but these out of service abandoned cars are fucking it up for the ones that actually move their cars everyday and everyone parks in red cuz of bad parking. I tried to file a report about them through “Get It Done SD” but it says it’s out of service in my area. What can I do about it?
