Where to live - 29M, starting a new job in Bellevue in 30 days. Balance between Lively/Calm
Hey there - I am moving for a job in Bellevue without a whole lot of time to visit or do the necessary due diligence to find a new place.
Bit of context - 29M, single, very active (gym/hiking/sports), love the outdoors, motorcycles, travel, Sunday markets. Been working remotely from London for the last 2 years. Love the big city energy and hate the suburbs (at this stage in my life).
I wont know anybody in the area so want to be someplace lively where meetups and events are common. That being said, I'm not really one for clubs or heavy drinking.
Looking for advice on which neighborhoods I should look at further (open to recommendations in Seattle as well) and any lessons learnt by people doing the same. Sorry if this is not a lot to go off of but time is sparse and really hoping for some direction.
Thanks!

What do you think the future of the NHL divisions will look like with more expansion?
With the Utah relocation in full swing and Arizona being promised an expansion team later, I can’t help but think about what the rest of the NHL will look like with more and more expansion. I read somewhere that the NHL could be the first North American sports league to have 36 teams. So I decided to break down what that could look like if the league decided to go that route.
I made my own predictions of which cities would get expansion teams based on current rumors/talks and what Bettman would do (I would add one to Quebec City but alas, Bettman will never) to make it seem more realistic. I went with Arizona of course since they’re first in line for expansion per Bettman. Atlanta and Houston since there’s already been rumors about the league returning to Atlanta yet again and Houston being a potential relocation destination for Arizona in the past. The last expansion team was an interesting one to ponder but I went with Portland since I thought that made the most sense based on sports markets, potential rivalry, and the northwest US doesn’t have much outside of Seattle which is brand new. My other idea was Milwaukee but I think Bettman would choose Portland but who knows.
Once I got the first set of divisions with 9 teams each, I thought “huh, this is an odd number. I bet they’d want to break these divisions up like they used to” so I took the divisions with the predicted expansions and put them back in the 2000-2013 divisional brackets.
Honestly with how much of a bloodbath the 6 team Southeast division would be and the reputation of expansion teams, Atlanta would get pummeled into relocation a third time.
What do you guys think? I know everyone would want to see more teams in Canada or in other US cities but we’d need someone not named Bettman lol.

What the hell is the kraken mascot?
So I don't follow sports. The only strong opinion I had on the kraken is they should have been called the Seattle Freeze.
The conversation came up about the mascot and I knew it had to be a kraken because that's what they called the team, right? But I'm told it's not a kraken. I look it up and it's this weird little fucking treasure troll.
Why? The only assumption I can make is they were worried about going with a tentacle monster. Want to avoid the hentai implications.
So now I have two strong opinions about the kraken.
